Program Overview and Class Options
Discovery Child Development Center offers two half-day morning classes and a full day class for children 3 and up with an 8:1 student to teacher ratio (16 students, 2 teachers). Children in the preschool classes work independently at centers to introduce writing, math, and art while practicing discovery. Preschool students will participate in small-group for language arts, reading, math, and writing lessons to meet individual educational needs. During whole group time, children engage in storytelling, music, movement, and Spanish lessons. Additionally, children work with their peers and teachers in project-based activities throughout the school year. Through this approach, not only are our preschoolers developing their literacy, oral language, writing, math, and social skills, but this engages and motivates learners to ask questions and seek answers.

Our preschool class options include - morning half-day, half-day with lunch bunch, school day (9-3), and school day with after care until 5:00pm. Parents can enroll their child 2 days a week (T and Th), 3 days a week (combinations vary), or 5 days a week (M-F).

Enrollment Requirements
- Age Requirement: Children must be 3 years old by August 31st to enroll in our preschool program.
- Potty Training: All children must be fully potty trained before starting the program.
- Family Tour: We require all families to schedule and complete a tour of our facility before enrollment. This allows parents to see our classrooms, meet staff members and ask questions about our project-based learning approach.
