What is the story behind the discovery logo?

The image was created for Discovery Child Development Center by graphic designer, Paul Walsh. The image represents the Vygotskian idea of learning through interactions with others. In the image, the larger bird is playing the role of the mentor providing just enough scaffolding to help guide the smaller bird through the zone of proximal development to learn a new concept or skill.
