Discovery Child Development Center - Preschool - Cary/Morrisville

Discovery Child Development Center is a project-based preschool for children age 2 through kindergarten. We are located on the border of Cary and Morrisville, NC. At our school, children discover their world and prepare for their future within a safe, nurturing and engaging environment. Discovery Child Development Center offers a variety of options for families including half day classes and school day classes.

Philosophy

Discovery Child Development Center is a project-based preschool and kindergarten, where students are active participants in their learning. Our unique approach to education helps us stand out as a top choice of Cary and Morrisville parents each year.

Programs

We offer programs for toddlers (age 2 and up) preschoolers (age 3 and up), pre-k (age 4 and up), transitional kindergarten, and kindergarten. Half day, full day, and virtual learning. options are available. 

Research 

Our curriculum is child-centered and based on the most updated research from early childhood experts committed to developing students who are eager and intrinsically motivated to learn.​ 

A Unique experience

Discovery is a locally owned and operated independent center and we create our unique curriculum onsite to best meet the needs of our students. We have low-student to teacher ratios and offer daily Spanish instruction. Science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) are infused into our curriculum.

Whole Family Approach

We view education as a partnership between our staff and our families. In addition to the many tools we utilize to communicate with families, we offer opportunities for families through podcasts, workshops, and partnerships with community organizations throughout Cary, Morrisville, Raleigh and Durham.​

We are conveniently located off of Davis Drive with quick access to Research Triangle Park, I-40, I-540 and The Triangle Expressway. We offer both in-person, as well as virtual tours.

Explore our classrooms

Young preschool

The young preschool class is designed for children who turn 2 by August 31 and is the perfect place for students to begin their educational journey. 

Pre-K

The Pre-K classes are for students 4 by August 31st, and provides students with not only the skills to thrive in kindergarten, but also the critical thinking and problem solving skills to be successful throughout their educational careers and lifetime.

Preschool

The preschool class is for students 3 by August 31st and focuses close attention to both the social/emotional, as well as the academic needs of our students 

Transitional kindergarten and kindergarten

We offer both a transitional kindergarten for students who just to miss the school cut-off date for kindergarten, as well as for families who want another year for their child before starting kindergarten. We also offer kindergarten who are looking for a smaller and more personalized learning environment.
