PreK Class- Discovery Child Development Center
Discovery Child Development Center offers half-day morning and a school-day pre-k class for children 4 and up with a 10:1 student to teacher ratio (20 students, 2 teachers). Children in our pre-k classes work independently at centers for math, writing, computer, discovery, and art. Students participate in small-group reading, language arts, writing, math, and early robotics lessons to move students forward at their skill level. During whole group time, children engage in storytelling, music, movement, and Spanish lessons. Additionally, children work with their peers and teachers in project-based activities throughout the school year. Through this approach, not only do our pre-k students develop their literacy, oral language, writing, mathematical, and social skills, but this engages and motivates learners who learn to ask questions and seek answers. Our pre-k students are more than prepared to enter kindergarten by the end of the school year. To read more about our philosophy, please click here.
We have several pre-k options - morning half-day, morning half-day with lunch bunch, school day (9-3) and school day with after care until 5:00pm. Students can attend our pre-k class 3 or 5 days a week.
