Practice of red shirting has become increasingly popular since the 2006 best selling book outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, which highlights the benefits of starting kindergarten later. redshirting is also gaining popularity as kindergarten classrooms have become more focused on academic skills and less on Play decision of or can be difficult.
